Primary Years Programme

CAMBRIDGE PRIMARY (5-11 Years)
Cambridge International Primary Programme, is an enquiry-based process in learning. The core subjects are emphasised and the curriculum is enriched with a trans-disciplinary process that prepares young students to be self-confident and respectful of other cultures. Cambridge Primary offers a flexible curriculum with integrated assessment for 5 – 11 year olds.

Cambridge Primary sets clear learning objectives in English, Mathematics and Science skills for each year of primary education. It focuses on students’ development in each year and provides a natural progression throughout the years of primary education, providing international benchmark for schools. It is also excellent preparation stage for the next step of a Cambridge international education, Cambridge Secondary 1 for students aged 11-14.

The school also offers an integrated curriculum of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Our child-centered approach is designed using best practices from around the world and includes a holistic approach, with varied experiences and expressive processes which foster not only numeracy and literacy but also creativity and imagination.

Musicals, art, drama, and public speaking, are important components of the programme. The school sports a large range of co-curricular activities, aided by talented teachers, experts, and parental support. The Reading Programme allows detailed analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of each child, and the reading Club promotes good oral expression of written words. Team and individual sports are a central part of the experience at APWS.

We recognize that children at this level have their own unique abilities, interests, aspirations and expectations. Therefore, our curriculum in these grades are structured to encourage and motivate them to become self-confident, self-reliant and self-disciplined, and thus help them achieve full potential. Our teachers use multiple learning styles to help students retain information and strengthen understanding.
